Oppo’s Realme 1 debuted in India a few weeks back. It is the first smartphone from Oppo’s-brand Realme and is aimed at catering the budget segment in the Indian smartphone. At the time of the launch, Oppo unveiled three variants of the Realme 1 in Diamond Black and Solar Red colour options. Now, the company has launched a new Moonlight Silver colour variant, which it also teased at the time of the first launch.
The variant comes with 4GB OF RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Realme’s official Twitter handle shared the launch information along with an Easter egg hunt competition that it is running. It will go on sale on June 18 and being a limited edition it is may go out of stock in some time. The Realme 1 is an Amazon exclusive smartphone.
RealMe 1 Silver Limited Edition: Specifications, Features
The Realme 1 comes with a 6Inch-display bearing full-HD+ 1080×2160 pixels resolution and 84.75 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by an octa-core 2GHz MediaTek Helio P60 chipset paired with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of storage, depending on the variant. The phone also houses a dual-core AI-specific chip for providing AI-assisted features.
Concerning optics, the Realme 1 sports a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and an 8MP selfie camera. The front camera on the phone also assists in Face Unlock feature that unlocks the phone in just 0.1 seconds. The company has also integrated Beauty 2.0 feature in the front camera that offers 296-point facial recognition. Both the front and rear cameras also support AR stickers.
The Realme 1 supports connectivity options such as 4G volte, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, and GLONASS. It measures 156×75.3×7.8mm and weighs 158 grams. It’s worth noting that the phone does not have a fingerprint sensor and we wonder if the Face Unlock feature is reliable enough as it has been integrated on the software level and not hardware.
Oppo boasts that it applied stringent quality control and executed around 10,000 drop tests, 100,000 button tests, 10,000 USB tests to ensure the durability of the Realme 1 smartphone. Besides, the company has also pledged to open more than 500 authorised service centres across the country. Some of the major cities will also get 1-hour of guaranteed service.
