Smt. Vanitha Rengaraj was working with the local Arts and Science college in Pollachi as a Sr. Grade Lecturer in the Department of History when she started SHARANALAYAM, on 29 Jan 2001. She started the organisation in a small rented house with 7 children from the streets, railway stations, bus stations and nearby slums. Currently there are more than 200 abadoned, orphaned children, Metally challenged adults and new born infants.

Dhaya is the home for the abandoned and orphaned Children. New born babies were left near the gates of “Sharanalayam”. The mother, Thaiamma took them under her love and care and gave them a secured life. Their life is full of joy and hope the moment they step into the loving home of Dhaya.

JHOTHI is the abode of care that runs on love and affection. The mentally challenged and physically handicapped children are the living Gods.

JHEEVAN: Service to humanity has never been degraded, nor forgotten. Each human being contributes his or her part to the society. Some to a larger extent.

SWEEHAR:
Adoption of an Orphaned Baby means a lot both to Sharanalayam and the adoptive Parents. Sharanalayam is a licensed In-country adoption agency, which ensures that each abandoned and surrendered baby finds a loving home with lovable parents & family.

SAATHVIK:
Saathvik, Center for Autism was started in the year 2017 with the aim of training and educating Children with Autism in and around pollachi and coimbatore rural areas. autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication.
