Alberta PNP Occupation List 2019-20: Is Your Occupation Listed?

The western Canadian province of Alberta enjoys widespread popularity for its marvelous oil wealth, welcoming residents, and beautiful & incredibly diverse cities and cultures.

With 3.8 million residents, it’s the fourth largest Canadian province by population and boasts of the strongest and swiftest developing economy in the country.

Home to first-class healthcare facilities, an exceptional public education system, low crime rates, and close knit and tolerant communities, it also boasts of numerous good opportunities for different kinds of people.

All this makes it one of the best provinces for immigration in Canada.

Yes, flooded with well-paying opportunities for semi-skilled and skilled people and also international graduates, Alberta will indeed be the right place to move to in Canada, for job and living purposes with your spouse/partner and dependent kids.

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)

You can move to the region and become a Canadian permanent resident through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) run by the province, called the AINP.

The AINP will welcome you under one of its immigration streams, if your profession is in-demand and listed on the Alberta PNP Occupation List, and if you have the required skills and experience to fill job shortages in the province.

Alberta – like other provinces and territories – will offer nomination to those who can make a positive contribution to its economy, and so if you can, you will be welcomed.

AINP Basic Requirements

  1. You must have a job offer letter for full-time and/or permanent employment from an Alberta based employer.
  2. You must also have the basic work experience as required by the employer to make the grade for immigration nomination.
  3. Besides fulfilling its exclusive requirements, related to its economy and occupations in demand, you also have to fulfill the mandatory eligibility requirements – related to medical, criminal and security parameters – to get fast nomination and eventually a Permanent Resident Visa (PRV).

If you get nomination for Permanent Residence (PR) under the province’s quota – as decided by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) – you will get PR, and become a permanent resident in the country.

However, a decision regarding the same will rest with the IRCC. It’s the federal government that will make the final decision on your petition.
