Among all the 30 players, only 12 of the 30 items are higher than 95 overall, but given many of the upgrades went to previously lower rated players, this promo did well to highlight a handful of players who otherwise might not have been in position to see a boost. These Team of the Year player cards will be available in Madden 19 through January 23. All gamers will also get a “Welcome Pack” just for signing into Ultimate Team mode. That pack features an 80 overall player card. There will also be a Solo challenge involving Games of the Year to earn one TOTY player. Brees, Gurley lead Madden 19 Ultimate Team of the Year
It’s a bit surprising to see Drew Brees get a Team of the Year item despite the fact he (allegedly) has a real shot to win the MVP award. In the past, EA has made separate upgrades for cards based on players who win real-life awards, setting the stage for Brees to potentially receive two 97+ overall items in the next three weeks.

He had 3,992 passing yards and threw 32 touchdowns. While that seems to pale in comparison to Mahomes’ 50 touchdowns, the Chiefs star was picked off 12 times while Brees was intercepted just five times.
