INDIAN RAILWAY CATERING AND TOURISM CORPORATION (IRCTC) is an online ticketing site available exclusively for people booking tickets for train and flight travel. The official Indian Railway’s site allows its users to register once and then plan their journey and book tickets online. This reduces the time and also the queue at the ticket counters and the most important thing time. It reduces a lot of time which is wasted in standing in queues at the counters.
IRCTC launched its official mobile app on Windows 8 and black berry before making it available on Android platform. The app was released on a black berry in August 2014. The app is only available for registered users and only registered users can avail the offers available on the app. To get registered you need to create an account by visiting the irctc site and then install the app to login into it. When a registered user enters the app the app asks you to create a pin so that you can enter the pin every time you open the app instead of logging in again and again. The app has gained a rating of 4.2 on Android’s Google’s play store that proves that the launch of the app has been very successful and the app has also satisfied its users by its features.

1. The user must register himself/herself using their PAN/Aadhar card number to experience IRCTC e-wallet.
2. You need to enter the PIN and also the PAN number every time you do a booking through the app.
3. Total history of the transaction is made available in the app so that the user can have a complete look on his date and time and amount of transactions.
4. If you cancel any ticket you can also have easy refunds through the app and have a check on it while the refund is being processed.
Indian railways have always been in support with the travelers and trying to make their journey pleasant one. IRCTC has been very much successful in doing so but is still lagging in few facilities. But all at once it has been an outstanding effort by the government of India to provide a rememberable journey for its passengers.
