How to Recover AOL Email Blocked Account

How to Recover AOL Email Blocked Account

AOL instant messenger

In AOL instant messenger and AOL mail, there are ways to block chat messages and emails from users you specify. If a person was mistakenly blocked, or if you later decide that you do not want a person to be blocked, then you have to manually remove the blocked status of the person. AIM enables you to unblock people from both desktop clients and websites; Unblocking someone with AOL Mail is possible only through the website.

AOL E-mail
1. Log in to your email account on AOL website (links in resources).

2. Click “Options” and select “Mail Settings”. A list of general AOL Mail settings appears.

3. Click on the “Spam Settings” tab. In the Send Filter section of the page there is a list of the email addresses you have blocked.

4. Specify the mouse cursor at the address that you want to remove from the list, and then click on the “x” next to the name. The name has been removed from the sender filter list.

5. Click the “Save Settings” button to save your changes.

AOL Mail’s password reset process
Along with many websites, AOL has moved away from password recovery as a safer approach than a password reset option. AOL has developed an easy process to do this. They are sometimes updated but usually take the same steps:

Visit AOL Mail Login Page.
Select Login / Join.
Type your AOL username
Click Next.
Forgot your password?
Type your username.
Tap Next.
Type in the phone number associated with your account, which you created when you created it. (You may also be able to choose another method here, depending on which screen AOL sends you. Stop here and see the other instructions below.)
Click Next.
To verify your identity, AOL requires a verification code. You can send it by text or phone call. Just choose the method of your choice.
After getting your code, type it into the Enter code field.
Click Next.
Enter the new password you want to use.

suspicious activity
If suspicious activity is detected on your account, you may receive a suspended Recover account message. AOL (aol.com) assumes that this suspicious activity is illegally due to someone other than to access your account. To fix this problem, you need to reset your AOL instant messenger password. Open the AIM window and click on “Options” or “Menu” depending on your version. Click “Settings,” “Sign In / Sign Out” and click “Change my password” at the bottom of the screen. Answer your security question and press “Continue”. Click on “Change Password” and in the “New Password” field, type a new password, six to 16 characters in length; Then type it again in the “Confirm Password” field and click “Save”.
Click Save.
