Super king size duvets are an essential accessory for those having super king size beds or duvets. As they are the best source to bring comfort, luxury, & fluffiness to the bed (). Duvets are expensive & are tough to replace frequently. So it’s better to invest in a quality duvet that can withstand the over use, frequent washes, & harsh climatic conditions providing you with soft, fluffy, & comfortable bedding as well. There come countless colors, designs, & filling materials when it comes to buying a new super king size duvet. So how do you decide to go for the one that caters all your needs and complement your interior at the same time? Choose the right duvet insert/padding

Duvet insert refers to the padding material that goes inside the duvet to make it thermally insulated and warm. It is made from all kinds of materials: natural, synthetic, & the blended. Each having specific characteristics and varying thermal insulation. Although this layer goes inside the duvet but still it’s very crucial because it decides the comfort you are likely to get from your duvet. To choose the right insert consider its constituent material & weight. The natural insert materials are down, silk, feathers, & cotton. From which down, feathers, & silk stand out for the exceptional softness, durability, & comfort.  They have wonderful thermoregulation properties that greatly help the struggle sleepers to sleep comfortably. Moreover, they last 10 to 12 years longer than the synthetic inserts. They offer super breathability & hypoallergenic properties as well, which is why they are strongly recommended for the hypoallergenic & the patients suffering from any skin or respiratory disorder. The only thing that limits their usage is their high price. Being made from natural materials they are not readily available which is why they are expensive.

When it comes to synthetic inserts, they outshine for their exceptional softness, fluffiness, thermal insulation, breathability, skin friendliness, light weight, availability, & cheap rates. Which is why they are found everywhere around the globe. Microfiber and the poly fiber are the widely used synthetic inserts. Both are known for their lightweight and hypoallergenic features. They are used both commercially and domestically at a large scale. 

Once you’ve decided the inserts, choose the weight. Heavyweight duvets are best for the cold sleepers and those living in the cold and frosty places. They have added thermal insulation and zero air flow. On the contrary for those who live in warm areas should opt for a lightweight insert. They are usually breathable and allow more air to pass. For normal sleepers, medium weight duvets are the best go to. Do not overlook the togs rating as well. Togs rating refer to the thermal insulation of the duvets and classify the duvets into summer, fall, and winter duvets having a tog value of 4.5 to 7.5, 7.5 to 10.5, and 10.5 to 13.5 respectively. There comes an extra warm duvet as well, it has a tog value of 13.5 to 16. 

Note that fall duvets (Single duvet size) can be used throughout the year for normal sleepers. 

Choose the duvet cover

Once you’ve chosen the insert, it’s time to choose the duvet cover or the out layer of the duvet. These covers protect the inserts from normal wear and tear and keep them as new as fresh for years. Appropriate covers can increase the functionality of the divers up to a great extent. Cotton, linen, and Egyptian cotton covers are meant for the warm sleepers and the warm nights because of their cooling and thermos regulation features. These covers tend to increase the breathability and increase the air flow which promotes sleeping by keeping the body cool and dry. Whereas for winters, flannel, jersey cotton, and velvet covers are good to go to. The thick and dense fabric stops the air to pass through and cool the body. 

Make sure whichever the fabric material you go for must provide zero or no friction between the skin and the duvet. Because duvets come directly in contact with the body and the friction can lead to rashes, skiing breakouts, sleep lines, and dryness.
