Are you looking for a great way to watch movies? Perhaps you have heard of paid downloads but you aren’t sure if they are right for you. Free rentals are okay if you only want to watch one or two but paying per movie seems kind of expensive. Luckily, there is another option out there that doesn’t require money to rent or purchase: Free DVD movies on online websites. FMovies.
FMovies is a network of websites hosting both free and paid streaming movies and other media such as music. Most of these websites allow free streaming and downloading of any kind, including live television shows. The only major difference between most of these sites is their focus on current popular television shows and films. If you want to download movies that are still in cinemas, you need to visit the official websites of the studios that made the movies.
This isn’t done through a regular web browser, though. Instead, visitors to FMovies must use an internet security software program such as AVG or Norton. These programs work to prevent malware from infecting your computer and stealing your information. Malware can cause serious problems for your computer, and sometimes it is necessary for them to be removed from your system. Fortunately, this can all be done without worrying about violating any laws or damaging your computer’s reputation with the legal system or the F.B.I.
While most of us are aware of legitimate streaming video sites such as Hulu, YouTube, and Vimeo, few of us understand what happens when someone streams a movie illegally using a computer hooked up to a tv. In many cases, the movie is sent through a proxy server that masking it behind another site. Because the user knows the stream is originating from a legitimate site, he or she believes the machine’s IP address is valid and can freely download the movie without paying anything. But the IP address isn’t always correct, and in many cases, the site you’re supposed to be watching is actually streaming pirated content. In other words, you’re indirectly supporting piracy by watching the movie.
This isn’t just a theoretical danger. Recently, two websites were shut down after complaints from legitimate movie distributors. The movies in question had been downloaded from a number of different piracy sites and had links to them on the domains they used. As a result of this, the movie distributors asked the government to shut down the domains and ban the sites. Luckily, they didn’t get their way, and in the end the domains were redirected to channels dedicated to television shows, so there wasn’t much of a problem.
Running a website and providing a service that allows people to download movies is considered to be a form of lawful media distribution. However, running a site that encourages piracy is illegal. Running websites that distribute copyrighted material is already a well-known illegal activity, but the addition of offering pirated movies makes it a more notorious market. Many individuals who download movies through these sites wind up being charged with criminal copyright infringement.
Running a website and providing a service that lets people watch TV shows online doesn’t necessarily mean you are breaking the law. There are many good things about online distribution that don’t escape the realm of legality. For one thing, it allows anyone to distribute free content that otherwise wouldn’t be available to anyone else, as long as they have internet access. People can’t be stopped from distributing their work under the law simply because they’ve put it on a website or given a DVD copy to someone. It’s still illegal to copy the material, even if you have permission to do so.
However, this doesn’t mean you should download anything you aren’t absolutely sure is legal. It’s important to be careful about the material you’re downloading, and only use reputable sources that are known for good content. It’s also important to be cautious about the software programs that may be downloading files for you as well. You need to make sure they aren’t downloading any type of malware onto your computer.
