The Essentials of Master’s Education establishments were by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. The Essentials are the recommended competencies and guidelines for higher education. These essentials provide educational faculties and institutions with a basic curriculum of, skills, knowledge, and expectations expected of master’s prepared nurses with no regard to their functional focus or specialty that they should acquire in their respective programs. ACCN has nine critical core categories that provide a framework for the programs of nursing in their provision of comprehensive professional, practical outcomes for students. The Essentials of AACN also has additional competency guidelines for practice specialty or the main functional role of prepared nurses at the master level (AACN, 2011). AACN further provides in-depth course work as shown in the Essentials areas depending on masters’ prepared nurse areas of specialty and practice. The educational intuitions make use of all these essentials in developing their curriculums so as to provide an appropriate learning environment for students to fulfill their expectations.
The mission of Chamberlain College of Nursing (CCN) is to provide students with an excellent learning opportunity through innovation, academic excellence as well as integrity. Chamberlain College of Nursing (CCN) also has missions of developing knowledgeable, ethical and compassionate nurses (CNN, 2016). The philosophy Statement of CNN relies on teaching-learning, environment, nursing, and persons, nursing education and health aspects (CCN, 2016). The outcomes of CCN’s seven graduate programs have the close association with the Essentials of Master’s Education of AACN. The learning expectations of students AT CCN is as per the required outcomes of AACN as expected for all the master’s prepared nurses. Both AACN and CCN organizations determine their outcomes through equipping students with the main foundation and expanding the Baccalaureate prepared nurse’s educations so that they can further their e educations to the doctoral level of education.
When contrasting and comparing the program outcome, Philosophy and mission of CCN to AACN Essentials, there are much more areas of comparing that contrasting? First the two organizations aim at enabling the master’s prepared nurses to advance their life learning, base their practices on evidence work in collaboration and provide high-quality care to patients. The main difference in these two organizations is that AACN provides the guidelines and recommendations for educational faculties and institutions in providing a strong learning foundation. CCN on the same note provides students with goals, mission and philosophy to attaining in their learning goals as Master’s prepared nurses. AACN has nine essentials while CCN has philosophy, mission and program outcomes of MSN that mirror the AACN Essentials
