After Windows 10 Upgrade, Norton is Displaying Errors

It is not so that Norton is not compatible with Windows 10, it is but it just doesn’t support Windows 10 builds. However, still we have seen many users who complaint about Norton error message after the upgrade of Windows 10. There are various issues that one encounter while using Norton on Windows 10.

Problem 1: After Windows 10 upgrade, can’t find Norton program

Solution: There is a tool called Norton’s Fix tool that you can use to fix this issue. Download this tool and then right click exe. File and select Run as administrator. You will get the information of Norton update being installed, click Next and simply follow the on-screen instructions.

Problem 2: Getting error codes 8506,421 and 3039,65559

Solution: Before you start, first restart your computer and then run Norton Remove and Reinstall tool. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the program and install it again. If this doesn’t resolve your issue then download and run Norton Power Eraser. Once you are done do not forget to restart your device.

Problem 3: Encountering error code 3048,3

Solution: This error codes indicate that the latest update of Norton program is not yet installed. To fix the error open your antivirus program and go to Security and click LiveUpdate. Once the update gets complete, click OK, and run LiveUpdate until you are notified that you have latest Norton protection. Lastly, reboot your device.

Problem 4: After upgrading to Windows 10, can’t launch Norton program

Solution: the best way to fix this problem would be using Norton Remove and Reinstall tool. Remember this tool doesn’t work with Norton family, so if you have it, then first uninstall it. Once you have downloaded the tool, use it to first uninstall your antivirus program and then restart your computer then follow the onscreen instructions to re-install the program.

Problem 5: Most common error for Windows 10 is 8504, 104

Solution: This error message simply indicates that you have another security program installed in your device or you got an installation error while upgrading the program. Try the given method to fix the issue:

  • Remove your antivirus program by using Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.
  • You need to uninstall any third party antivirus from Control panel.
  • Also upgrade video graphic driver and for that you need to go to Device Manage and then Display Adapters. After that right click on HD graphic card and then select Properties. Next on the Driver tab, check for updates, if there is any update available, then download and install the latest graphic card driver and then do not forget to restart your device.

Problem 6: Norton sending notifications saying that you need to install the latest version for Windows 10.

Solution: There are two ways to fix the problem, either you can use Norton’s fix tool or Norton Remove and Reinstall tool. We have explained the method for using these tools above.
